ADS-B and Privacy Highlighted in Upcoming NBAA Webinar, PBI Regional Forum Session
On Jan. 1, the FAA’s ADS-B rule took effect, requiring operators to utilize equipment meeting the requirements of FAR Part 91.225 and 91.227 when flying in most U.S. airspace. Two upcoming events present opportunities for NBAA members to learn more about ADS-B and provisions intended to ensure operator privacy and security: a live webinar on Jan. 22 at 3 p.m. EST and an education session at the association’s West Palm Beach Regional Forum on Jan. 28. “NBAA works hard to ensure security and privacy are not surrendered simply by flying on an aircraft,” said Heidi Williams, NBAA’s director of air traffic services and infrastructure. Podcast: Combating Fatigue Is Vital to Safe Operations
When talking about “fitness for duty,” the challenge of managing fatigue is one of the most important factors contributing to safe operations. Fatigue causes issues from memory deficit to irritability and much more, noted Dr. Daniel Mollicone, chief scientist and CEO of Pulsar Informatics. “In general, every aspect of our cognition and function is diminished. Urban Air Mobility Dominates Headlines at CES 2020
Once known exclusively for spotlighting the latest offerings in home entertainment systems and personal electronic devices, the massive annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) now serves as a major event for the expanding field of electrically powered vertical takeoff and landing aircraft as well. CES 2020, which took place Jan. 7-10 in Las Vegas, NV, was no exception. Among the companies unveiling new offerings were Bell, Hyundai, Elroy Air and Doosan Mobility Innovation. FAA Releases Air Traffic Management Procedures for Super Bowl
If your business will take you to the Miami area from Jan. 29-Feb. 4, the FAA has released information about air traffic management procedures in place for Super Bowl LIV, which will take place Sunday, Feb. 2. A required reservation program will be in effect to facilitate ground services at six South Florida metropolitan airports from Wednesday, Jan. 29 through Tuesday, Feb. 4.
