Resources: 2021 NBAA-BACE

NBAA’s Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), taking place in Las Vegas, NV, Oct. 12-14, promises to be a transformational event embracing all segments of our community. Here are some of the show’s features.

Owner/Single-Pilot Pavilion

For the first time, NBAA-BACE will have an Owner/Single-Pilot Pavilion to champion this segment of business aviation. Located within the outdoor aircraft display at Henderson Executive Airport, the pavilion will showcase owner and pilot associations and inform visitors of technological and operational advances tailored for single pilots.

Maintenance Pavilion

The new Maintenance Pavilion will provide maintenance vendors an opportunity to obtain prime exhibit space dedicated to their segment’s products and services. The pavilion will be located near the keynote area and advanced air mobility zone and the indoor aircraft display.

New Product Showcase

The retooled New Product Showcase will provide exhibitors an opportunity for their new product listings to be included on both the convention website and the show’s mobile app. Attendees will be able to view products before, during and after NBAA-BACE, maximizing exposure and access to these new products.

Hybrid Content

Online content, including some two dozen education sessions, as well as exclusive, web-only features, will be available to both in-person and at-home attendees. The sessions will be recorded and made available on NBAA’s online Learning Management System within 24 hours following the presentation. Several on-demand-only sessions are also planned.

By the Numbers: Laser Incidents on the Rise

Laser strikes on aircraft remain a serious threat to aviation safety. The FAA reported 6,852 laser incidents in 2020, up 11.7% from 2019 and the highest number of reported incidents since 2016. The FAA works closely with law enforcement to pursue civil and criminal penalties against people who purposely aim lasers at aircraft. Crewmembers who experience a laser strike should report incidents by visiting nbaa.org/faalaserinfo.
