Advocates for a privatized ATC system say the system is mired in the past, but long-time aviation blogger Ron Rapp, an experienced Part 91 and 135 operator, recently debunked this myth in his recent blog titled “The Big Lie: ATC Stuck in the 1960s.” He asserts, “what’s being used today by air traffic control is light years ahead of what they had in the 80s, let alone the 1960s.”
