CAN Continues Its Life-Saving Missions in 2015

Corporate Angel Network (CAN), which helps cancer patients and their families access life-saving medical help by arranging free travel to treatment using empty seats on business aircraft, flew 24 flights in its first year of operation in 1981. Today, the 563 company flight departments that participate in CAN annually fly as many as 2,700 cancer patients and family members to treatment facilities cross the country, according to CAN Executive Director Dick Koenig. “It almost feels like a privilege to be able to do this for a family that really needs something like this at this point in their lives,” said Pat Cunningham, director of aviation for PepsiCo., which has participated in CAN for more than 25 years.
