Corporate shuttles are becoming a more popular travel option for companies that need to send employees to sites far from major airports. Passengers appreciate the predictability and the time savings that allow them to have better work-life balance, said Lee Blake, chief pilot of shuttle operations at Cummins Inc. Corporate shuttles also can have a huge financial impact on the business, as well, said Matthew Grunenwald, chair of NBAA’s Shuttle Working Group. “There is an economic value of time, and the U.S. government uses a formula for calculating economic value for time for all transportation-related projects,” he said.
