Meet Alex Gertsen, NBAA’s Expert on Airports and Access

Since Jeff Gilley retired from NBAA in 2015, Alex Gertsen has served as the association’s director of airports and ground infrastructure. He comes to NBAA from the American Association of Airport Executives, and his love of aviation goes back to standing on the flight line with his grandfather, an Air Force veteran. A pilot himself, Gertsen works with the NBAA Access Committee to ensure access at airports across the country. “Alex’s role is to monitor the situation [at important airports such as] Santa Monica Municipal (SMO) and East Hampton (HTO),” said Access Committee Chairman Gabriel Andino, “to keep an eye on the situation and provide feedback.”
