Looking back at 2014, NBAA was actively involved in advocacy efforts on behalf of he business aviation industry. The year began with a proposal from the Obama administration to implement per-flight user fees. The Association led the fight against the plan, which was also met with strong, bipartisan opposition on Capitol Hill, and eventually dismissed. NBAA also was active in advocating against an FAA proposal for mandatory sleep apnea testing and for extending certain tax provisions, including accelerated depreciation. Listen to a special year-end NBAA Flight Plan podcast for more on the issues that took center stage in 2014.
The NBAA Flight Plan podcast, which ran from 2009 to 2025, provided an overview of important developments affecting NBAA members, and the association’s work to advocate for their interest.
