This year’s convective storm season has already brought a wave of severe weather activity across the Midwest and East Coast. Personnel at the FAA’s Air Traffic Control System Command Center, including NBAA’s Air Traffic Services team, are ready to assist business aircraft pilots as they navigate around stormy weather. Additional resources, including the “Thunderstorms” section of the recently overhauled aviationweather.gov website, are also available to safely guide operators across the national airspace system. “Knowledge is power,” emphasizes Wes Adkins with the National Weather Service’s Aviation Weather Center. “Use all the tools at your disposal.”
In this episode of NBAA’s “Flight Plan,” host Rob Finfrock speaks with:
- Wes Adkins, national aviation meteorologist for the National Weather Service’s Aviation Weather Center
- Mitch Scott, NBAA Air Traffic Services specialist
The NBAA Flight Plan podcast, which ran from 2009 to 2025, provided an overview of important developments affecting NBAA members, and the association’s work to advocate for their interest. The archive of past episodes will remain available for your enjoyment. Please note that no new episodes will be released.
