Podcast: How Cyber-Secure Is Your Flight Operation?

April 17, 2023

With just a few keystrokes, hackers may be able to collect personal data from aircraft passengers or flight operations employees, gain control of finances and even damage a company’s IT infrastructure. Guarding against cyberattacks requires participation and vigilance by everyone in your aviation operation, as well as cooperation from vendors and support providers. “Designate a security champion,” recommends Satcom Direct’s Josh Wheeler. “Let someone be a conduit that can raise the [cybersecurity] bar for the entire group. They can help define SOPs.”

In this episode of NBAA’s “Flight Plan,” host Rob Finfrock speaks with:

  • Patrick Morrissey, technical fellow in product cybersecurity for Collins Aerospace
  • Josh Wheeler, senior director of entry into service and cybersecurity at Satcom Direct
