With NBAA’s Support, Group Forms to Represent Business Aviation In Tennessee

Business aviation advocacy in Tennessee received a significant boost with the formation of the Tennessee Business Aviation Association (TnBAA). "We look forward to representing the interests of business aviation in the Nashville area and across the state," said Tom Tate, president of TnBAA. "We want to serve as a voice for Tennessee aviation." Greg Voos, NBAA's Southeast regional representative, was instrumental in bringing together individuals interested in forming TnBAA, and helped with development of the group’s website and bylaws. Voos also put the Tennessee group in touch with officials of the Georgia Business Aviation Association, who helped mentor the fledging organization.

Mario Diaz-Balart (R-25-FL), chairman of the House Appropriations Committee’s Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations, seeking his support for the FAA’s fiscal year 2016 budget request of $6 million for NextGen – Alternative Fuels for General Aviation (GA). “The purpose of this endeavor is to address the complex transition of the existing GA piston fleet, comprised of more than 200,000 aircraft, to an unleaded fuel,” the letter states.

NBAA Joins with Local Groups to Promote Aviation in Michigan

The Michigan aviation community will converge on the state capitol building in Lansing on March 17, when the Michigan Business Aviation Association and the Michigan Association of Airport Executives hold their annual Legislative Day. Christa Fornarotto, NBAA's vice president of government affairs, will be the featured speaker at this year’s event, which draws aviation stakeholders from around the state, and also serves as the annual meeting for MBAA. Fornarotto said she plans on presenting the latest information on national aviation issues, such as the upcoming FAA reauthorization process, preserving airport and airspace access, privacy issues relating to the implementation of Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) and updates on the regulation of unmanned aircraft systems.
