A coalition of operators, led by NBAA, is advocating for legislation in Texas to preserve the long-accepted 'sale for resale' exemption for aircraft leasing, and other exemptions.

The FAA has issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking significantly reducing unscheduled slot allocations at Newark, Kennedy and La Guardia Airports.

Business aviation advocacy in Tennessee received a significant boost with the formation of the Tennessee Business Aviation Association (TnBAA). "We look forward to representing the interests of business aviation in the Nashville area and across the state," said Tom Tate, president of TnBAA. "We want to serve as a voice for Tennessee aviation." Greg Voos, NBAA's Southeast regional representative, was instrumental in bringing together individuals interested in forming TnBAA, and helped with development of the group’s website and bylaws. Voos also put the Tennessee group in touch with officials of the Georgia Business Aviation Association, who helped mentor the fledging organization.

NBAA said the Association would oppose new restrictions on operations at East Hampton (NY) Airport (HTO), if the flight limitations proposed by town officials are adopted. NBAA and other aviation associations expressed concern as part of a March 12 public hearing, held by East Hampton officials, to consider the proposed plans, which would significantly impact flights at HTO.

Fornarotto said she plans on presenting the latest information on national aviation issues, such as the upcoming FAA reauthorization process, preserving airport and airspace access, privacy issues relating to the implementation of Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) and updates on the regulation of unmanned aircraft systems.
