Washington, DC, April 1, 2010 – With just over a month remaining until the ribbon-cutting ceremony kicks off the 10th Annual European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2010), the event’s organizers are very optimistic about the prospects for a strong show, which will be held May 4-6, 2010, in Geneva, Switzerland. As of April 1, nearly 400 Exhibitors – a number comparable to the count for last year – had registered to fill Halls 6 and 7 at Geneva Palexpo. Additionally, the EBACE2010 Static Display of Aircraft scheduled for Geneva International Airport is sold out with 63 aircraft participating and a waiting list in place. Furthermore, a full slate of education sessions and other programming is planned, to provide event attendees with the latest information on the issues facing the business aviation community. The event is co-sponsored by the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and National Business Aviation Association (NBAA). While the event will focus on the emerging trends, challenges and opportunities on the horizon for the industry, EBAA and NBAA also plan to mark the tenth year of EBACE by showcasing several major industry milestones since the launch of the first show in 2001.
The two associations have produced white paper, “A Decade of Accomplishment: Top 10 Milestones in European Business Aviation in the Past 10 Years,” that details the significant developments for the European business aviation community over the last ten years – from steady marketplace growth, to a heightened recognition of the industry’s benefits, to measureable progress on the legislative and regulatory priorities for business aviation. “It’s going to be a lively show,” said Brian Humphries, EBAA president and CEO. “Our members have found value in EBACE every year since the inaugural show in 2001, but EBACE has taken on even more importance in the last couple of years, as our industry has been faced with turbulence from several corners.” NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen agreed. “EBACE continues to serve as the premier annual event for the European business aviation community, and it provides an outstanding opportunity to promote the industry’s value in Europe and elsewhere,” Bolen said. “We look forward to highlighting at EBACE the importance of business aviation to citizens, companies and communities in Europe and beyond.” Humphries said that EBACE has proved to be a catalyst for business aviation, helping foster its growth and success in the European region. “The event has played a key role in advancing the industry’s agenda. We’re eager to discuss some of those accomplishments at this year’s show, and we know that over the next 10 years, EBACE will continue to be a part of the industry’s success,” he said.
