Washington, DC, December 12, 2001 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is proud to announce that four students in aviation-related collegiate programs have been selected to receive Indiana Business Aviation Association (IBAA)/Professional Development Program (PDP) Scholarships. Daniel J. Mosley, Gregory J. Peterson, Melanie Anne Rehberg and Charity Speich each will receive a $1,000 scholarship from IBAA.

All four recipients of this year’s IBAA/PDP Scholarship are students at the University of North Dakota. Daniel Mosley and Gregory Peterson are both juniors majoring in commercial aviation. Melanie Anne Rehberg is a senior majoring in aviation management, and Charity Speich is a junior majoring in airport management.

NBAA, in cooperation with the University Aviation Association (UAA), has developed the Professional Development Program to train future flight department leaders. PDP classes currently are available to flight department personnel through a variety of convenient and flexible delivery methods. Established training organizations and educational institutions provide management training courses in several different media, including Internet courses, video courses and seminars.

To be eligible for an IBAA/PDP scholarship, a student must be an undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled in an aviation-related two-year, four-year, or post-graduate degree program at an institution that offers a PDP-approved course. The applicant also is required to have at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. In addition, the applicant is required to submit a transcript, resume, letter of recommendation from a faculty member, and essay describing his or her interest in an aviation career.

The Indiana Business Aviation Association is made up of corporate members and honorary members with a common goal: to further safety, convenience, advancement and economy of business aviation in Indiana.

NBAA represents the aviation interests of nearly 7,000 companies which own or operate general aviation aircraft as an aid to the conduct of their business, or are involved with business aviation. NBAA Member Companies earn annual revenues approaching $5 trillion — a number that is about half the gross domestic product — and employ more than 19 million people worldwide. The NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention is the world’s largest display of civil aviation products and services.
