Media Advisory: European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE2006) Comes to Geneva in Two Weeks (May 3–5)

Rolls-Royce Executive, EUROCONTROL Director Among Industry and Government Figures to Discuss Issues, Trends in Business Aviation

WASHINGTON, DC, April 19, 2006 – The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) today announced that several notable industry and government figures will speak at EBACE2006, including:

  • Sir Ralph Robins, the recently retired Rolls-Royce CEO;
  • Bo Redeborn, EUROCONTROL director for air traffic management strategies, and;
  • Edward W. Stimpson, former U.S. ambassador to the International Civil Aviation Organization

    Members of the media are invited to attend EBACE, the only major European event focused solely on business aviation. Press badges required to gain entry will be issued at no charge to editors, reporters and camera personnel on site. A press card or suitable identification must be presented to obtain a press badge.     Other noteworthy figures scheduled to attend EBACE2006 include: Piero Ferrari, vice president of Ferrari, SpA; Patrick Goudou, executive director of the European Aviation Safety Agency; Mikolaj Ratajczyk, chairman, Special Task Force on Fractional Ownership for the European Civil Aviation Conference; and the chief executives of many of the world’s business aviation associations.

    At Geneva Palexpo, EBACE showcases hundreds of Exhibiting Companies from around the world and covers nearly 22,000 square meters. At nearby Geneva International Airport, more than 50 aircraft, including nearly every major business aircraft design in current production, will be on display in a special 18,000-square-meter Static Display area.

    EBACE2006 is poised to be the strongest show in the event’s six-year history. More than 9,000 Attendees are expected (more than 3,000 are already registered), and the indoor exhibit floor is sold out, with more than 1,200 booth spaces reserved by 288 Exhibitors.

    EBACE2006 will also offer informational sessions featuring industry veterans and covering a wide variety of topics. Experts will discuss new aircraft technologies, and recognized authorities will consider the impact of legislative and regulatory changes for safety, security and environmental protocols.
