NBAA and NATA Team to Co-Publish Part 135 Primer

Washington, DC, July 26, 2000 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and the National Air Transportation Association (NATA) have released a publication titled Guidelines for Obtaining an FAA Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate.

The guide, comprised of a booklet and easy-to-navigate CD-ROM, is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the procedures involved in starting an on-demand air charter operation under Part 135 of the Federal Aviation Regulations.

Included in the guide are samples of manuals and forms required in the application process. It also provides Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) information and forms, pilot record sharing documentation and a guide to Customs and Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) fees and services. The CD-ROM contains links to Web sites where users can check for updates.

The combined expertise of NBAA and NATA demonstrated in this publication will prove invaluable to flight departments that consider offsetting the cost of aircraft ownership by starting a Part 135 operation. This guide covers all of the basic steps for obtaining a Part 135 certificate and points readers in the right direction when they have questions.
