Washington, DC, September 6, 2001 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is proud to announce that it will offer a new International Operators Scholarship, which will benefit individuals who are involved or wish to become involved with international business aviation operations in any capacity. The 2002 NBAA International Operators Scholarship is made possible by the generous support of sponsor ExxonMobil Aviation and the Avitats, which will offer a total of $5,000 in scholarship awards to one or more recipients in March 2002. This Scholarship was developed and will be administered by the NBAA International Operators Committee (IOC) and the sponsor.
Both the NBAA IOC and ExxonMobil Aviation and the Avitats are dedicated to promoting education and training as a means for individuals to increase the safety and professionalism of their positions. Funds awarded through this program will be paid directly to the educational institution of the recipient’s choice in order to further that individual’s professional development.
The deadline for 2002 Scholarship application submissions is January 31, 2002. The IOC Scholarship Group then will judge the applications and determine the winner(s). The 2002 Scholarships officially will be presented during the NBAA 29th Annual International Operators Conference, to be held from March 11 to 14, 2002, at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. The Scholarship includes free registration to the Conference.
