SAVANNAH, GA, January 31, 2008 – The National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA’s) Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Committee today announced the creation of the NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Outstanding Achievement & Leadership Award. The award will recognize an individual who shares outstanding business aviation industry expertise, provides extraordinary service, exhibits leadership and has made significant contributions for the scheduling and dispatching function.

The new award was announced at today’s Opening General Session during NBAA’s 19th Annual Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference, taking place this week in Savannah, GA.

The nomination and selection process will be conducted by the NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Committee, which was founded to further professional growth and development for schedulers and dispatchers and heighten the awareness of the contributions made by the profession as an integral part of the business aviation community. The Committee envisions the business aviation industry recognizing the scheduler and dispatcher occupation as a profession where dedication to safety, service, teamwork and continuing education are paramount.

“Increasingly schedulers and dispatchers are being recognized as highly valued members of a flight department. In the future, we want to ensure that the occupation receives the recognition it deserves,” said Steve Brown, NBAA senior vice president, operations & administration.

Nominees should demonstrate a continuous history of extraordinary participation in, or support of, scheduling and dispatching functions. They should exhibit leadership qualities and outstanding achievement contributions in specific categories including visionary leadership, customer-driven excellence, social responsibility, extraordinary commitment, and personal learning and development.

The award was created in an effort to advance the reputation of the scheduler and dispatcher profession and recognize some of the outstanding individuals who serve as schedulers and dispatchers. The first award recipient will be announced at NBAA’s 20th Annual Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference in 2009, in accordance with the 20th anniversary theme, “Honoring Our Heritage: Reaching for New Heights.”

More information on the NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Outstanding Achievement & Leadership Award, including nomination requirements and forms, will be available online in February at www.nbaa.org/awards.
