NBAA Announces Recipients of 2014 Schedulers and Dispatchers Training Scholarship Awards

Washington, DC, Jan. 17, 2014 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and its Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Committee have announced the 12 recipients of the Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarships. These individuals were recognized during the 2014 NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference (SDC2014), which took place from Jan. 15 to 17 in New Orleans, LA.

These training awards, given in conjunction with annual sponsors, promote the career development of current and aspiring schedulers and dispatchers. Companies generously donating training awards this year were: Airline Dispatchers Federation, Beyond and Above Corporate Flight Attendant Training, CAE, CornerStone Strategies LLC, Corporate Flight Attendant Training by Susan C. Friedenberg, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Fireside Partners, FlightSafety International, Frontier/Medex, GA Food Safety Professionals, Jeppesen, Million Air, MedAire, Inc., NBAA Air Traffic Services, TransCon Aviation and Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc.

    NBAA’s S&D Committee offers scholarships through two separate but related programs that specifically promote professional and career development for business aviation schedulers and dispatchers.

    The Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarship Program, initiated in 2004, offers opportunities for scholarship recipients to gain access to hands-on teaching initiatives. This year, Million Air offered to offset some travel costs to individuals attending dispatch initial training.

    Through a separate Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship Program, the committee offers cash grants, which can be used for a variety of professional development initiatives. Since 1997, more than $540,000 has been awarded to schedulers and dispatchers through this program.
