WASHINGTON, DC, February 21, 2007 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), in coordination with the family of Donald A. Baldwin Sr., today announced the establishment of the Donald A. Baldwin Sr. Business Aviation Management Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to the first recipient in 2008 at the NBAA Leadership Conference.

“Throughout his career, Mr. Baldwin led by example and did an outstanding job in flight department management,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “His devotion to his family, to the business aviation community and to NBAA set an example for others to follow. We are pleased to establish the Donald A. Baldwin Sr. Business Aviation Management Scholarship in his honor.”

Baldwin, an accomplished general aviation pilot and beloved father, was a member of NBAA’s Board of Directors from 1968 to 1971. He also received the NBAA John P. “Jack” Doswell Award in 1992 and the Flight Safety Foundation Business Aviation Meritorious Service Award in 1991.

The Donald A. Baldwin Sr. Business Aviation Management Scholarship will promote professional development in business aviation by providing financial support for individuals seeking to become NBAA Certified Aviation Managers (CAMs). These funds, totaling $1,025 per recipient, will cover expenses involved in preparing for the CAM Exam.

Successful applicants must explain their plans for a career in business aviation, provide a recommendation letter of support and meet minimum qualifications to take the CAM Exam.

The CAM application is available at NBAA’s web site by visiting www.nbaa.org/cam. An application for the Donald A. Baldwin Sr. Business Aviation Management Scholarship will be made available at www.nbaa.org/scholarships this April.
