WASHINGTON, DC, June 12, 2007 – The 2006 National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Annual Meeting & Convention has risen to eighth place in the ranking of largest U.S. trade shows based on square footage occupied by exhibits, according to Tradeshow Week 200. By comparison, the 2005 NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention was in 37th place.

“This achievement is the result of the continued growth of NBAA’s Annual Meeting & Convention as the largest trade show in general aviation, and of the recognition given by Tradeshow Week 200 to the complete inventory of NBAA’s exhibition space, which last year included more than a half-million square feet for the Static Display of Aircraft,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen.

Last year’s NBAA 59th Annual Meeting & Convention in Orlando, FL, was the biggest and best in the Association’s history, breaking attendance records and selling out exhibit space earlier than ever before. At the close of the three-day event, the attendance total was 33,088, a 14-percent increase over the final total for 2005, also in Orlando, and higher than the previous record of 31,665 set in Las Vegas in 1998.

“We are pleased at the continued growth in support from the business aviation community for this event and for the opportunity to enhance public understanding of business aviation,” Bolen said. “These events showcase the diversity and vitality of business aviation, its industrial and technology innovation, contributions to the national economy, and growth and development of communities nationwide.”

The 2006 event also set a record for Exhibitors (1,140) and aircraft on display, including 11 fixed-wing aircraft and four helicopters in the Orange County Convention Center, and another 115 at the Static Display of Aircraft at Orlando Executive Airport. All of the exhibit space was sold out well in advance of the show.

The NBAA 60th Annual Meeting & Convention (NBAA2007), which will mark NBAA’s 60th anniversary, will be held in Atlanta, GA from September 25 to 27, at the new Georgia World Congress Center.

NBAA2007 is expected to help the industry commemorate achievements in aviation, including the 100th anniversary of powered flight in the state of Georgia and a number of major anniversaries for NBAA Member Companies.

“We’re looking forward to marking our 60th year, and a number of other important milestones, at this premier event and annual meeting place where the business of aviation is conducted,” Bolen said.

The NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention brings together a global community of business leaders, government officials, manufacturers, flight department personnel, single-pilot operations and all those involved in nearly every aspect of business aviation. New business aircraft firms, avionics firms, handling organizations, fractional providers, charter/lease companies and previously titled aircraft resellers display their wares.
