NBAA Annual Meeting and Convention Rises in the Ranks of Largest U.S. Trade Shows

Washington, DC, May 9, 2000 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Annual Meeting & Convention has risen to 37th place in the ranking of largest U.S. trade shows based on square footage occupied by exhibits, according to Tradeshow Week 200. The event previously was ranked as the 48th largest show.

Tradeshow Week 200 also reported that while the 200 largest U.S. shows demonstrated a 2.8 percent growth in net square feet for 1999, the NBAA Convention increased by 7.5 percent.

The Tradeshow Week 200 ranking does not include the approximately 500,000 square feet of space used by the NBAA Static Display of Aircraft that is held in conjunction with the Convention. If the Static Display’s outdoor space were included in determining the ranking, the NBAA Convention would rank in the top 10 largest shows in the United States.

NBAA President Jack Olcott noted, “The NBAA Convention is the reflection of a very healthy industry. It is the marketplace for displaying business aviation’s tools of the trade. It is the learning center for what is new in technology and for the ‘best practices’ in using that technology. Finally, it is the gathering place for leaders in our community. NBAA efficiently brings buyers and sellers together in a congenial, informative and positive environment totally committed to business aviation.
