Washington, DC, December 13, 2002 – The Board of Directors of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has begun a search for a new president to be appointed in 2003 and to take office on January 1, 2004. After more than 11 years leading the Association, President John W. Olcott will become NBAA’s president emeritus as of January 1, 2004. Olcott joins John H. Winant as president emeritus.

NBAA is indebted to Jack for his deep commitment to the Membership and to business aviation over the past decade,” said NBAA Chairman George Saling. During Olcott’s tenure:

“Jack has led the Association with great integrity, knowledge and enthusiasm,” added Saling. “We look forward to his continued service to NBAA and its Members. Replacing Jack will be difficult,” said Saling.

NBAA’s Board has appointed a five-person committee led by Vice Chairman Donald Baldwin to conduct a search for NBAA’s next president. On the Search Committee’s recommendation, the Board has selected a leading executive recruiting firm to administer the search on behalf of the committee. “The Membership expects a very comprehensive and complete selection process, and we will accomplish that in 2003,” said Baldwin. “We are looking for a unique individual of exceptional talent to help lead NBAA in coming years,” added Baldwin.

NBAA represents the aviation interests of more than 7,300 companies which own or operate general aviation aircraft as an aid to the conduct of their business, or are involved with business aviation. NBAA Member Companies earn annual revenues approaching $5 trillion — a number that is about half the gross domestic product — and employ more than 19 million people worldwide. The NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention is the world’s largest display of civil aviation products and services.
