Washington, DC, June 21, 2004 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) announces that the NBAA Gala – to be held in conjunction with the NBAA 57th Annual Meeting & Convention this October 12 through 14 in Las Vegas – has been moved from the traditional Thursday evening of the Convention to the evening of Wednesday, October 13, 2004. This year’s event will feature world-class entertainment by Kenny Loggins.

Previously known as the NBAA Safety Awards Banquet, the Gala honors and celebrates the recipients of NBAA’s most prestigious awards. At the 2004 Gala, NBAA Chairman of the Board Donald E. Baldwin will present the NBAA Meritorious Service to Aviation Award to Stuart Matthews, president and CEO of Flight Safety Foundation, and the NBAA John P. “Jack” Doswell Award to Allan B. Lane, former chairman of the Association and retired aviation manager and chief pilot for BP Amoco. In addition, the recipients of the 2004 NBAA Flying Safety Awards will be recognized.

Kenny Loggins, one of the most successful songwriters and performers in the world, will be the featured entertainer at this event. With a career spanning more than 30 years, Loggins has sold more than 20 million albums globally and earned 12 platinum-plus albums and 14 gold albums in the United States alone. As a songwriter and singer, his hits include “Whenever I Call You Friend” (with Stevie Nicks), “Your Mama Don’t Dance” (with Jim Messina), “This Is It,” “Danger Zone” (from the film Top Gun), “I’m Alright” (from the film Caddyshack) and “Footloose” (from the film of the same name).

Loggins’ performance will be followed by the Après Gala, which will feature a live band and dancing.

The 2004 NBAA Gala will be held on Wednesday, October 13 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the ballroom of the Paris Las Vegas Hotel.
