Orlando, FL, October 9, 2003 – The National Business Aviation Association’s Shelley A. Longmuir today assumed the full responsibilities of NBAA president and chief executive officer, and Robert P. Warren took on the role of NBAA executive vice president, chief operating officer and corporate secretary. These leadership positions resulted from a Bylaws change adopted by the Association’s Board of Directors during the NBAA 56th Annual Meeting & Convention.

After an extensive search earlier this year, the NBAA Board named Longmuir president on June 24, and today she assumes the title of president and chief executive officer. Formerly the senior vice president of international/regulatory and governmental affairs for United Airlines, the world’s second-largest commercial carrier, she has more than a decade of experience in domestic and international aviation. Before joining United in 1993, Longmuir held positions with the U.S. Departments of Transportation (DOT), Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Justice (DOJ).

Warren joined NBAA on September 15 in the newly created role of executive vice president, and today he assumes the position of executive vice president, chief operating officer and corporate secretary. His 30-year career includes considerable experience in the aviation industry, as well as high-ranking positions at several federal government departments and association management. He came to NBAA from the Air Transport Association of America, Inc., where he served as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.

NBAA represents the aviation interests of 7,500 companies that own or operate general aviation aircraft as an aid to the conduct of their business, or are involved with business aviation. NBAA Member Companies earn annual revenues approaching $5 trillion — a number that is about half the gross domestic product — and employ more than 19 million people worldwide. The NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention is the world’s largest display of civil aviation products and services.
