WASHINGTON, DC, June 23, 2006 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) today announced six individuals who have successfully passed the Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) Examination, administered by the Association in April. Through the certification process, NBAA and the Certified Aviation Manager Governing Board seek to raise the level of professionalism and quality of management within flight departments.

The new Certified Aviation Managers include:

  • Brian Hazen, Knight Ridder, McClellan, CA
  • Steven Jurinak, AON Flight Operations, Chicago, IL
  • Michael Piccirilli, The Boeing Co., St. Louis, MO
  • Martin Rollinger, Caterpillar, Peoria, IL
  • Steven Stout, Frito-Lay, Addison, TX
  • Steven Woods, Gallagher Enterprises, Englewood, CO

The six individuals have earned the official title of Certified Aviation Manager and may use that designation when officially listing their name. They also have earned industry recognition of their experience and knowledge within business aviation.

To prepare for the CAM designation, the individuals met or exceeded minimum qualifications based upon experience, training and education. They completed both a formal application process and the CAM Exam, which is offered throughout the year in conjunction with the NBAA Leadership Conference, Maintenance Management Conference and Annual Meeting & Convention.

With these six additions, a total of 73 individuals have passed the exam and are designated as CAMs. Past successes indicate a passing rate of 75 percent of candidates who complete the exam.

The next CAM Exam will be administered on October 16, 2006, in Orlando, FL, in conjunction with the NBAA 59th Annual Meeting & Convention.

To qualify for the exam, completed applications must be received by NBAA 45 days before the scheduled examination date (for example, to qualify to take the October 16 exam, NBAA must receive an application by August 31).
