WASHINGTON, DC, March 5, 2007 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) today released an updated version of the NBAA Oceanic Flying Operations and Procedures Manual (“Oceanic CD”). The revised version is being produced for NBAA Members, in association with NBAA’s International Operators Committee, as a comprehensive reference source for oceanic and inter-continental flight operations.
International operations by their nature are more challenging and complex than domestic operations. NBAA’s interactive CD-ROM guides operators through this process, and assists with the advance planning necessary to comply with laws and standard procedures in multiple countries. As such, the manual is devoted to presenting government and international documents that provide operators with the fundamental requirements and procedures necessary to fly abroad.
“The latest version of the Oceanic CD is representative of NBAA’s dedication to serving Member interests in the international aviation arena,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “It is yet another product that NBAA offers to promote professionalism and safety among members of the aviation community.”
NBAA provides a variety of resources for international travel, including the annual International Operators Conference, hosted by NBAA for 34 years, to offer guidelines, strategies and best practices for international flight operations. The Oceanic CD will first be distributed free to Attendees of this year’s Conference, held March 26 to 29 in San Diego, CA, as part of registration.
NBAA Members also are represented by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) through NBAA’s position as a founding member of that organization. IBAC, a non-profit, non-governmental association, represents, promotes, and protects the interests of business aviation in international aviation, international policy and regulatory venues. NBAA was instrumental in developing and continues to promote IBAC’s International Standards for Business Aircraft Operations, a compilation of best practices designed to promote safe operations for flight departments worldwide.
Additional resources available to NBAA Members flying internationally include access to a database of Member-submitted reports about international travel conditions, and IBAC Aircrew Identification Cards, which identify crewmembers of business aircraft so that international flights may be cleared expeditiously.
Those not attending this year’s International Operators Conference may place orders for the Oceanic CD by using the online form on NBAA’s web site at www.nbaa.org/merchandise, or by contacting NBAA at (202) 783-9286 or publications@nbaa.org. Members can purchase this product for $90, non-Members for $200.
