Washington, DC, February 28, 2013 – National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) President and CEO Ed Bolen today issued the following statement, regarding the announcement by Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) President and CEO Craig Fuller that he would step down from the organization this year.
“Craig has been a highly effective champion for the general aviation community, in large part because he has been a cohesive figure with a big-picture perspective. He has always understood that by working together and leveraging our strengths, a group as large and diverse as the GA community can accomplish great things. His inclusive approach has proven highly effective in bringing our industry together to help advance our shared legislative priorities and build support in Congress, in particular through the formation and growth of the House and Senate General Aviation Caucuses. Although Craig will be missed by many in our industry, we wish him only the best in all his future endeavors.”
According to AOPA’s website, Fuller announced today that he has notified the association’s Board of Directors of his intent to step down this year. Fuller, who took office in January 2009, will remain in his current role with the organization as its Board conducts a search for a new president and makes the transition to a new administration.
