Washington, DC, December 21, 2004 – Following an announcement yesterday that Admiral James Loy will leave his position as Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security, the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) today publicly saluted Loy for his service to the nation.
“Throughout his tenure in public service, Admiral Loy has played a key role in shaping transportation security policy,” said NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. “In each of his capacities, he has shown himself to be a sincere listener, skilled administrator and thoughtful leader. He served our country well with his commitment to balance security interests, economic needs and personal liberties. We thank Admiral Loy for his service, and wish him well in his future pursuits.”
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced yesterday that Loy will resign from his position on March 1, or as soon as a successor is confirmed. Loy was sworn in as Deputy Secretary for DHS in December 2003. Before that, he served as Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA); in that role, he presided over the transfer of TSA from the Department of Transportation to DHS.
