NBAA Unveils ‘NBAA Connect’ Navigation Tool for Convention Attendees

WASHINGTON, DC, October 16, 2006 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) will host a new Information Session at its 59th Annual Meeting & Convention in Orlando, titled “Maintaining Business Continuity to Address Avian Flu.”

The session, which will take place on Tuesday, October 17 from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Room S320E/F of the Orange County Convention Center, will help business owners and flight department managers better understand the processes and procedures they will need to implement in the event of such a widespread public health emergency as pandemic flu.

“Preparedness in the face of the unexpected is always important a priority for the business aviation community, and as a result, we felt it was important to provide Members with the latest information and resources on the avian flu public health threat,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “We have assembled a panel of experts to assist our Members and their companies in better understanding the best practices for protecting their employees and their businesses,” Bolen said.

Presenters at the session will include:

• Joan Sullivan Garrett, president, MedAire
• Dr. Joseph Barbera, associate professor and co-director, Institute for Crisis, Disaster and Risk Management, George Washington University
• Mr. Richard Walsh, vice president, flight operations and business continuity, Cardinal Health

The session will cover the latest medical information on the avian flu, its impact on aviation and business case studies on contingency and continuity planning.
