Washington, DC, August 17, 2009 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has received top honors in the Gold Circle Award competition sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Center for Association Leadership.

NBAA won the 2009 Gold Circle Award in the “General Association Web Site” category for its web site, www.nbaa.org. First launched in 1995, NBAA.org is the most comprehensive online source for the business aviation information valued by industry professionals. In 2008, the NBAA.org web site was comprehensively redesigned to improve site-wide usability, update the site’s look and feel, and provide better information for supporting the Association’s advocacy efforts.

“Our Association Members told us that NBAA’s original web site was a helpful resource for them, but they sometimes had difficulty navigating it and finding the information they needed,” said NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. “This recognition by a respected association group validates the work done to bring our web site up to date and make it easier to use.”

This year, the Gold Circle Award competition received over 300 entries across several categories, including magazines, newsletters, blogs, podcasts and innovative communications.

NBAA’s web site provides the most current news and information for flight departments for all of NBAA’s Member Companies, from those that operate single-pilot airplanes, to those that use turbine aircraft to fly internationally and the service providers that support them. The redesigned NBAA.org includes usability enhancements, such as drop-down menus that direct users to relevant information and a new Google-powered search engine. Portals for Members, Exhibitors, media and students guide those who rely on NBAA’s web site and services to enhance their businesses and careers to the content that is most relevant to them.

Founded in 1947 and based in Washington, DC, the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is the leading organization for companies that rely on general aviation aircraft to help make their businesses more efficient, productive and successful. The Association represents more than 8,000 companies and provides more than 100 products and services to the business aviation community, including the NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention, the world’s largest civil aviation trade show.
