Orlando, FL, October 8, 2003 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Membership has reached the 7,500 level for the first time in its 56-year history. Five years ago in October 1998, the Member level was at 5,700.

The Association welcomed its 7,500th Member – Air Resources of DTI of Windsor, CA, an NBAA Business Member – during its 56th Annual Meeting & Convention in Orlando. The company’s King Air 200 is flown by chief pilot Stanford Brown.

“As the recognized, effective force for improving the safety, security, efficiency and acceptance of business aviation, NBAA assists Member Company professionals in the fulfillment of their responsibilities as aviators and managers within business aviation,” said NBAA Vice President, Membership, Marketing & Regional Programs Joe Ponte. “We do this through representation with Federal and regulatory agencies at local, national and international levels; through resources such as publications, web sites, professional development opportunities and seminars; and through networking events such as the Annual Meeting & Convention and Business Aviation Regional Forums.”

NBAA welcomed its 1,000th Member in 1974, its 2,000th Member in 1980, its 3,000th in 1988, its 4,000th in 1996 and its 5,000th in 1997, its 6,000th in 1999, and its 7,000th in 2001.

NBAA represents the aviation interests of 7,500 companies that own or operate general aviation aircraft as an aid to the conduct of their business, or are involved with business aviation. NBAA Member Companies earn annual revenues approaching $5 trillion — a number that is about half the gross domestic product — and employ more than 19 million people worldwide. The NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention is the world’s largest display of civil aviation products and services.
