NBAA Welcomes Fifth GA Desk Specialist at the Air Traffic Control System Command Center

Washington, DC, May 19, 2004 – On May 24, Ernest E. Stellings will join the NBAA Staff as its newest General Aviation (GA) Desk specialist at the FAA Air Traffic Control System Command Center in Herndon, VA, where he will provide NBAA Members with face-to-face representation to the FAA on matters pertaining to the daily operation of the National Airspace System. This expansion of services at the GA Desk will provide seamless staff coverage and a more robust schedule.

Stellings has 11 years of experience in aviation operations, including with both long- and short-haul crew planning, crew scheduling, aircraft scheduling and flight coordination. He most recently worked for CitationShares in Greenwich, CT as its manager, operations center, and for Atlas Air in Purchase, NY as manager, crew planning. He holds an M.S. in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a B.S. in aerospace from Middle Tennessee State University. He also holds an FAA commercial pilot certificate with single/multi-engine land and instrument ratings.

NBAA established the GA Desk in August 2001 to represent the tactical aviation interests of its Member Companies to the FAA System Command Center staff and various ATC facilities throughout the United States. The GA Desk is a Member service that provides representation and participation in real-time national airspace flow control and decision-making. The GA Desk staff not only represents the interests of NBAA Members in general, as part of their basic Membership dues, but also provides additional services on a subscription basis.
