NBAA Welcomes New Manager, Tax & Finance

Washington, DC, June 2, 2003 – Today Michael D. Nichols joins the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Staff as its manager, tax & finance. In this position, Nichols is responsible for tax, finance and insurance issues related to aircraft ownership and operations at the Federal, state and local levels. He serves as the Staff Liaison to the NBAA Tax Committee; coordinates the NBAA Tax Conference and Tax Forums; and manages NBAA publications in his area of responsibility, including the NBAA Federal Excise Tax Handbook and NBAA State Aviation Tax Report.

“Mike has excellent experience and is passionate about aviation,” said NBAA Senior Vice President, Operations Bob Blouin. “He will be a great addition to the NBAA team.”

From 1997 to 2003, Nichols worked as manager of industry forums for the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions in Washington, DC. In this position, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of key industry forums, including committee activities, leadership development and training, meeting planning/logistics and membership development. He also participated on the finance and budget team and in communications initiatives. Prior to 1997, he worked for Right Management Consultants, Inc. as a client services coordinator and the American Association of Blood Banks as their education programs coordinator.

Nichols graduated from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania with a B.S./B.A. in business administration and international business and a minor in German. He is an avid private pilot who flies his own aircraft.
