Washington, DC, March 31, 2014 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) announced the appointment of business aviation veteran Greg Voos as NBAA’s regional representative for the Southeast U.S. region effective today. His territory includes the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. He replaces Harry Houckes, who retired in February.
“NBAA is pleased to welcome Greg to the regional program team,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “We know with his extensive background in aviation he will be an asset to the Association and to the Members we serve in the Southeast region.”
Voos, a Certified Aviation Manager, comes to NBAA with a background rich in business aviation. His previous experience includes service early in his career as a lineman for a fixed-base operator in Lexington, KY. He then spent 17 years at Delta Air Lines in Atlanta becoming their crew tracking analyst at the Atlanta Operational Control Center before returning to business aviation with a successful career at Home Depot, where he served as the company’s aviation office manager.
Voos also is an accredited International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) auditor and is certified in avionics.
“Greg brings a very insightful personality to our regional program. He has previously worked with local groups, as well as with state government officials to generate support for business aviation. With his strong operational background and grassroots advocacy skills, he will be a wonderful asset for our association, the business aviation industry and most certainly for our team of regional representatives,” said NBAA Director of Regional Programs Steve Hadley.
NBAA’s regional representatives build working relationships with business aviation organizations at the state and local levels, in order to provide support for operators of business aircraft in the public affairs, legislative and policy arenas. The regional representatives also work directly with state legislators, staff for various state aeronautics agencies, airport management and other policymaking entities at the grassroots level in support of the industry.
