Washington, DC, July 24, 2012 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) today issued the following statement regarding the announcement that former Airlines for America (A4A) Senior Vice President Thomas L. Hendricks has been selected as the new president for the National Air Transportation Association (NATA).

“We welcome Tom to NATA and the general aviation community,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “NBAA has long enjoyed a tremendous relationship with NATA, and we look forward to continuing that under Tom’s leadership.”

According to a press release issued today by NATA, Hendricks focused on safety, security and operations during his tenure at A4A. He previously worked for Delta Airlines as director of line operations and a chief pilot. He is a retired Air Force Reserve colonel and career fighter pilot.

Hendricks will succeed James Coyne, who has served as NATA president since 1994. Earlier this year, upon Coyne’s announcement of his plans to retire at the end of 2012, Bolen issued a statement saluting Coyne for his distinguished service to the aviation industry.
