NBAA2008 Closes With Over 30,000 In Attendance

ORLANDO, FL, OCTOBER 8, 2008 – The National Business AviationAssociation (NBAA) concluded its 61st Annual Meeting & Convention with30,811 people in attendance, “a solid turnout,” according to AssociationPresident and CEO Ed Bolen. “This year’s show comes amidst spikes in thecost of fuel, tightening credit markets and a challenging economy,”Bolen said. “Business aviation has been impacted by adverse economictrends like every other industry, so we’re pleased that our Conventioncontinues to offer a valuable marketing and networking opportunity forour Member Companies.”

As evidence of the value NBAA Members find in the opportunitiesavailable at the Association’s Convention, Bolen noted that the totalnumber of exhibit booths at the Orange County Convention Center for thisyear’s show was 5,302 compared with last year’s all-time high of 5,257.The 1,183 Exhibitors present included new business aircraft firms,avionics firms, handling organizations, fractional providers,charter/lease companies, technology-development firms and a host ofother small and mid-size businesses from all over the United States.Finally, a record-setting 139 piston, turboprop and jet aircraft were ondisplay at nearby Orlando Executive Airport.
