Las Vegas, NV, Oct. 21, 2013 – Less than 24 hours remain before the start of the National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA’s) 2013 Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA2013) at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Show organizers expect the event to be a highly successful and exciting show, featuring a full roster of aviation leaders and legends, aircraft and Exhibits, informative presentations and inspiring discussions about the current and future needs of the business aviation industry.
“We are thrilled to bring NBAA’s Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition back to Las Vegas, and are delighted by the enthusiastic response we’ve received from attendees and exhibitors alike to this year’s schedule of activities,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen.
About 25,000 industry professionals from across the U.S. and around the world are expected to attend NBAA2013. From Oct. 22 to 24, attendees will have the opportunity to review approximately 1,100 indoor exhibits featuring the latest in business aviation products, technology and services, and participate in more than 100 education sessions, including maintenance and operations sessions hosted by a range of original equipment manufacturers.
NBAA2013 will also feature two static aircraft displays – the sold-out outdoor static display of aircraft at Henderson Executive Airport (HND) will feature 85 business aircraft of all sizes, while a second, indoor static display on the main exhibit floor inside the Las Vegas Convention Center provides attendees the valuable opportunity to examine about a dozen light business airplanes and helicopters.
Additionally, NBAA2013 will offer a complete slate of activities bringing together some of the most notable and outstanding leaders from industry and government, and the most influential personalities from throughout the aerospace community. These presentations include:
The NBAA/GAMA No Plane No Gain Media Kickoff Breakfast, Oct. 22, 7 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.

NBAA will present members of the media the findings of a new study of the benefits of business aviation for international companies, conducted by NEXA Advisors, on behalf of the No Plane No Gain advocacy campaign. In recent years, the No Plane No Gain program has commissioned studies exploring the benefits of business aviation to large companies, small and mid-size companies, government organizations and others. Each study has reached the same conclusion: organizations using business aviation routinely out-perform those that don’t, meaning that the use of business aviation is the sign of a well-managed company. At the breakfast, a new campaign initiative will highlight the role of prominent CEOs with prominent companies in helping spread the campaign’s message about business aviation’s value.
NBAA2013 Opening General Session, Oct. 22, 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Join NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen as he welcomes several distinguished guests: U.S. Transportation Security Administration chief John Pistole, Missouri Congressman and House GA Caucus Co-chair Sam Graves and former U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow. Also at the Opening General Session, NBAA’s Al Ueltschi Humanitarian Award will be presented to actor and accomplished pilot Harrison Ford, for his involvement in humanitarian flights.
NBAA2013 Second-Day General Session, Oct. 23, 10:30 a.m. to Noon
Location: Las Vegas Convention Center, Central Hall, C2, Exhibit Floor
The Second-Day General Session will begin with a discussion of the most pressing issues affecting the business aviation industry by leaders from several general aviation associations. NBAA will then present the last man on the moon, Captain Eugene “Gene” Cernan, with the 2013 Meritorious Service to Aviation Award, the Association’s highest honor. A panel composed of some of aviation’s most highly accomplished and renowned aviation legends – including Bonnie Dunbar, former NASA astronaut; Gene Kranz, former flight director in NASA Mission Control for the Gemini and Apollo programs; and Sean D. Tucker, famed aerobatic performer – will then discuss Cernan’s legacy and the examples he has set that continue to inspire young people to be a part of the industry.
NBAA/CAN Soiree, Oct. 23, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Location: Wynn Las Vegas, Lafite Ballroom
This special evening to benefit Corporate Angel Network (CAN) will feature a concert by Beatles tribute band The Fab Four, as well as live and silent auctions. All proceeds from the auctions will help CAN in its mission to ease the emotional stress, physical discomfort and financial burden for cancer patients by arranging free flights to treatment centers in available seats on business aircraft.
Careers in Business Aviation Day General Session, Oct. 24, 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

On the third and final day of the show, NBAA opens its doors to middle school, high school and college students interested in exploring careers in business aviation, with free attendance for these students and their chaperones. The day’s general session will be presented by former NASA astronaut Bonnie Dunbar and Barrington Irving, the youngest pilot to fly solo around the world.
“As always, NBAA2013 will showcase the size and significance of the business aviation industry in Nevada, across the United States and around the world,” said Bolen. “We invite members of the media to attend this year’s show to learn more about business aviation and its important contributions to citizens, companies and communities throughout the country and around the globe.”
