Washington, DC, July 1, 2002 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) hosted its first Business Aviation Forum & Static Display in the Chicago area on June 27 at DuPage Airport. Approximately 1,000 people attended this inaugural event, which featured 26 airplanes on static display, 26 vendor stations and nine sponsors.

The Chicago Forum surpassed our expectations,” said NBAA President Jack Olcott. “Obviously, a niche exists at the local level to bring the business aviation community together. Undoubtedly, we’ll be planning other similar events around the country.

Isaac Richardson, the new Transportation Security Administration Federal Security Director for the City of Chicago presented a briefing on security issues affecting business aviation in the Chicago area before an audience of 150 Attendees. Other briefing topics included pre-purchase evaluations, benefits of business aircraft, corporate aviation insurance, aging aircraft issues, communicating with senior management, RVSM and TAWS, and DRVSM.

The day’s events concluded with a REACHBAC dinner and presentations featuring FAA Great Lakes Regional Administrator Cecilia Hunziker and NBAA President Jack Olcott. REACHBAC is NBAA’s Regional Effort to Advise, Communicate with and Help the Business Aviation Community; for more information on this program, visit the NBAA web site at www.nbaa.org/reachbac.
