WASHINGTON, DC, May 14, 2007 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) today announced applications are available and being accepted for a new NBAA scholarship, the Donald A. Baldwin Sr. Business Aviation Management Scholarship.

The family of the late Donald A. Baldwin Sr., in coordination with the NBAA Corporate Aviation Management Committee, established the Donald A. Baldwin Sr. Business Aviation Management Scholarship in 2007 to benefit individuals seeking to become NBAA Certified Aviation Managers (CAMs). The scholarship promotes professional development in business aviation by providing financial support – totaling $1,025 per recipient – for qualified CAM Exam candidates.

Donald A. Baldwin Sr., an accomplished general aviation pilot and beloved father, was a member of NBAA’s Board of Directors from 1968 to 1971. He also received the NBAA John P. “Jack” Doswell Award in 1992 and the Flight Safety Foundation Business Aviation Meritorious Service Award in 1991.

“On behalf of NBAA and the Baldwin family, we are pleased to offer this scholarship,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “Mr. Baldwin’s leadership and devotion, not only in flight department management, but in his family life and the aviation community, set an example for others to follow. It’s only fitting we are now able to help members of our community excel under his name.”

This scholarship will be awarded to the first recipient at the 2008 NBAA Leadership Conference next January. Successful applicants must explain their plans for a career in business aviation, provide a recommendation letter of support and meet minimum qualifications to take the CAM Exam.

Applications, along with qualification requirements for the Donald A. Baldwin Sr. Business Aviation Management Scholarship, are now available at NBAA’s web site by visiting www.nbaa.org/scholarships. Applications are due no later than November 1, 2007. The CAM Application also can be downloaded online at www.nbaa.org/cam.

The Donald A. Baldwin Sr. Business Aviation Management Scholarship is one of several scholarships offered by NBAA to promote professional development and business aviation careers.
