Outstanding Achievement and Leadership Award Recipient Named

Washington, DC – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) will recognize Wendi Gavigan of Citigroup with the 2011 Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Outstanding Achievement & Leadership Award.

Created in 2008, the award recognizes individuals who have shared their outstanding business aviation industry expertise, provided extraordinary service, exhibited leadership and made significant contributions to the scheduling and dispatching function.

Gavigan, vice president and manager of flight operations for Citigroup Corporate Aviation, leads a team that provides all travel arrangements for a flight department with roughly 80-percent international destinations.

Through her career in aviation, Gavigan has worked as a reservation agent, ramp agent, cargo handler, customer service representative, sales representative, and international trip planner. She is a co-founder and former president of Aviation Professionals Sharing Information, a networking group for schedulers and dispatchers.

With the goal of becoming a flight department manager, she was the first dispatcher to receive the NBAA Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) certificate and holds a masters degree from Embry-Riddle University with a dual specification in aviation/aerospace management and aviation/aerospace education technology. “As a flight department manager and avid runner, I enjoy challenges,” Gavigan said. “I feel that my education never stops, and keeps me ready for the next challenges, both personally and professionally.”

Gavigan will receive her award during NBAA’s 22nd annual S&D Conference, which will run from February 9 to 11, 2011, at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center in Georgia.
