WASHINGTON, DC, APRIL 6, 2011 – Officials with the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) have announced the signing of a Memo of Cooperation (MOC) with the Shanghai Airport Authority (SAA) formalizing mutual support for the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE2012).

“We welcome this official endorsement for ABACE from the Shanghai Airport Authority, and we look forward to working with them to host a world-class show in 2012 and in the years to come,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen.

Shanghai Airport Authority (SAA) Chairman Nianzu Wu agreed, stating: “This collaboration is a natural fit. NBAA has well-established expertise in organizing the world’s premier business aviation events, and AsBAA represents the regional business aviation community. The Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport is widely recognized as one of China’s flagship airports. We are confident that our collaboration will serve the business aviation community well in the years ahead.”

The MOC, signed on March 18, establishes that the parties will work together for a minimum of five years, with potential extensions beyond, and that SAA will exclusively support ABACE.

“Business aviation has enormous potential in Asia, and this MOC greatly helps position ABACE to serve as a key catalyst for the industry’s growth in the region,” said Jean-Noel Robert, AsBAA Chairman. “We are delighted to have this latest show of support from the airport officials for the event.”

The MOC between ABACE organizers and the Shanghai officials comes on the heels of other high-profile demonstrations of support for ABACE2012. All of the leading international business aviation associations have signed on as ABACE partners, and the world’s major business aircraft manufacturers have committed to exhibit at the event.
