NBAA’s Business Aircraft Scheduler Certificate Program is an assessment-based certificate program, intended to provide introductory-level training, measure candidate knowledge and recognize successful participants in nine key areas of business aircraft scheduling. The primary objective of this new certificate program is to assist flight department personnel who have been assigned aircraft scheduling responsibilities.

Intended Audience

This introductory to mid-level training program is not intended to create deep expertise in every area. Rather, it is to establish a baseline knowledge, identify resources schedulers can rely upon as references, and instill a desire for more advanced learning in the areas of scheduling in the years to come.

How It Works

This certificate program will be offered as a completely on-demand product starting in 2023. The program will include nine asynchronous learning modules, independent self-study reading reference material and quizzes.

Registrants will have a six-month window to complete the course.

To earn their Business Aircraft Scheduler Certificate, candidates will take an examination to determine whether they meet the established criteria as defined by the program’s specifications (e.g., the knowledge or skill associated with competence to practice in the role of business aircraft scheduler).

Course Components

Each of the nine asynchronous learning modules will cover one program topic area at an introductory level.

  • Module 1: Business Aviation Basics
  • Module 2: Mission Control
  • Module 3: Global Regulations
  • Module 4: Technology
  • Module 5: Crew Scheduling
  • Module 6: Safety & Security
  • Module 7: Finance, Legal & Tax Responsibilities
  • Module 8: Pre-trip Logistics
  • Module 9: Real-time Trip Support

Quizzes embedded into NBAA’s learning management system (LMS) will be used to assess a candidate’s understanding of the content.

Reference materials will be provided to participants for independent reading in support of each module’s objectives and responsibilities.

The final examination is a standardized instrument to assess the candidate’s knowledge and skills for each program objective. Candidates must pass the final exam to receive a Business Aircraft Scheduler Certificate.
