The NBAA Maintenance Committee is dedicated to promoting technical education and training as a means for business aviation maintenance technicians to enhance their careers. To support this position, NBAA Charities, in coordination with Dassault Falcon Jet Corp. and Dassault’s authorized training providers CAE Simuflite and Flight Safety International, offers the the Hank Hilsmann Memorial Scholarship to current and aspiring aviation maintenance technicians and military personnel transitioning to business aviation.
The scholarship was created to honor the memory of Hank Hilsmann, an aviation mechanic and pilot who most recently served as a field representative with Dassault Falcon Jet Corp. Hilsmann was known for his integrity and pride in his work.
NBAA Charities will annually award current or aspiring maintenance technicians the opportunity to take two Falcon Jet aircraft initial maintenance courses conducted at CAE Simuflite in Morristown, NJ; Dallas, TX; and Little Rock, AR, as well as at Flight Safety International in Dallas, TX or Wilmington, DE. The award will include associated travel expenses. Applicants should possess a passion for aviation and demonstrate interest or involvement in using business aviation to enhance the lives of others.
Awards will be presented to U.S. citizens or permanent residents without regards to sex, race, religion or national origin. Award recipients will coordinate their training schedule with Dassault Falcon Jet Technical Support.
The Hank Hilsmann Memorial Scholarship is one of several scholarships offered by NBAA Charities to promote professional development and business aviation careers. For all NBAA scholarships, applicants are limited to receiving one award per person, per year.
