NBAA created the Steve Brown Leadership Scholarship to honor the association’s former chief operating officer, who retired in 2022. In coordination with NBAA Charities, the scholarship supports students interested in pursuing a career in business aviation who are currently enrolled in programs to achieve this goal.
Scholarship applicants must provide a 500- to 1,000-word essay that describes how their leadership skills in their aviation studies embody one or more of NBAA’s Core Values:
- Caring for Each Other
- Leading from Any Seat
- Delivering Excellence
- Promoting Community
Essays will be evaluated by NBAA’s Business Aviation Management Committee (BAMC).
Applicants must also provide a resume that highlights education and professional experience, as well as volunteer work or extracurricular activities that showcase their leadership skills.
Two letters of recommendation and transcript are also required.
For all NBAA Charities scholarships, applicants are limited to receiving one award per person, per year. Direct all questions about this application to NBAA’s Molly Hitch at 202-783-9353 or scholarships@nbaa.org.
