Connect on LinkedInAmanda Ferraro calls her work in safety auditing and promoting safety within business aviation a “calling.” Her love of aviation began at 12 years of age when a pilot neighbor took her flying and got her involved in the Civil Air Patrol, where she was eventually a Cadet Commander. A very serious fall accident as a teenager led her to a safety career – Ferraro realized her accident was preventable.
Now her passion for and excitement about safety is contagious and she wants to change how operators think of safety, particularly safety management systems. Ferraro has volunteered extensively with IBAC to improve safety overall across the industry, developing the new IS-BAO Flight Plan Stage 1 to make SMS accessible to small flight departments.
