Connect on LinkedInAs an electrical engineer, Trevor Steffensen didn’t set out for a career in aviation, but a friend’s suggestion to check out system engineering started him on a fulfilling career path. He especially enjoys bringing teams together to collectively design and improve systems end-to-end. Steffensen’s work with traffic alerting systems generated the FAA-approved algorithm for general aviation traffic awareness using ADS-B data. Lessons learned through that experience continue to influence his career.
“As technology has become more complex, especially in business aviation, the industry can’t get by with a few brilliant engineers. We need brilliant engineering teams,” said Steffensen.
