Andrew Chan planned to follow in his dad’s footsteps in engineering, but after his first flying lessons, he realized he needed a job to support his new flying habit. He rejuvenated and sold airplanes and changed his major to entrepreneurship, creating a business plan to open the first Sport Pilot rating flight school.

Now the owner of Right Rudder Aviation, a Part 61 and 141 flight school and FBO, Chan is passionate about creating career opportunities for his community.

“One of the best parts of this industry is the impact we have on the community and team members,” said Chan. “We’re able to offer people in the area an exciting career and give them an opportunity to grow themselves.”
