Austin Kutch was a senior in high school, planning to go into automotive repair. He ended up attending Texas State Technical College in Waco, obtaining a double associates degree in applied science for Airframe and Powerplant. He worked in line service and did minor line maintenance before joining StandardAero. There, he moved up through the company into various leadership roles, specializing in engines and implementing continuous improvement projects which have reduced considerably turn times and the cost of poor quality.

After work, Kutch shares career advice with under-privileged high school students preparing for the workplace.

“Some people think aircraft maintenance is intimidating, but I tell people if you have the right attitude and mind set, it can be a very fulfilling career,” said Kutch. “This career is not monotonous. It keeps me on my toes and motivated.”
