Priscilla Yecora values good storytelling and originally planned on becoming an animator. She joined business aviation 13 years ago on a whim, although she was totally “green.” On her first day at Sheltair, she learned the phonetic alphabet and 24-hour clock. She says her experience wasn’t “sink or swim,” but rather “float or swim,” thanks to the support of the industry and mentors. She worked her way from customer service to marketing while volunteering for initiatives like Girls in Aviation Day, the Blue Lightning Initiative to recognize and report human trafficking, Turtles Fly Too and Paws N Pilots.
“One commodity we can’t purchase is time. Business aviation gives us that by connecting people and bringing so much positivity. Those stories are worth highlighting,” says Yecora. “There’s so much we can accomplish together, and amplifying those voices gives me renewed purpose.”
