Antonio Ferrara’s father was an American Airlines captain and an airframe and powerplant technician with inspection authorization. Ferrara’s deep passion for aviation grew while detailing aircraft at his local airport. After joining a charter operator in New York he progressed rapidly from line technician to supervisor to training manager. Later he moved to the corporate office as director of quality control. Ferrara founded Aviators for Autism after the birth of his son, a non-speaking autistic boy with apraxia. The nonprofit’s mission is to expose, educate and empower the autism and neurodiverse communities and their families in and through aviation. Ferrara also seeks to address the constant workforce shortage in aviation and the unemployment/underemployment rates of the neurodiverse community.

“I started my own charter brokerage, an independent franchise of Stratos Jets Charters, with a simple mission: to provide other professionals with opportunities to pivot, grow or enter the charter sales space,” said Ferrara. “We’re creating the industry’s first charter flight desk run by a neurodiverse workforce, allowing them a structured, inclusive working environment to thrive in.”
