Mikael Cardinal’s first exposure to business aviation came during undergraduate studies in mechanical engineering at the Université de Sherbrooke in Canada. As a co-op student, he completed multiple internships where he had the opportunity to work on systems integration and certification projects for business aviation clients. Later, Cardinal had the privilege of meeting United Therapeutics CEO Dr. Martine Rothblatt, who welcomed him into the company under its subsidiary Unither Bioelectronics as vice president of program management, organ delivery systems.

“What I find the most inspiring about my current role is the opportunity to apply my expertise to drive meaningful, tangible outcomes – specifically, helping to save lives through the adoption of transformative technologies now emerging within the business aviation sector,” Cardinal said. “I firmly believe we are standing at a pivotal point in aviation history, on the cusp of a paradigm shift in how business aviation can deliver critical, lifesaving medical cargo to those in need.”
